Shipping a Car from Texas to Arkansas: Routes, Timing, and Costs

September 16, 2026 · Texas Warrior Transport

Shipping a car from Texas to Arkansas is a short haul compared to a coast-to-coast run. Most loads move 300 to 500 miles depending on where you start and where you’re headed. That means one to two days on the road, not a week. It also means the price is driven more by how the truck gets loaded than by raw distance.

We run out of Granbury, about 35 miles southwest of Fort Worth. Arkansas is one of our regular lanes. Here’s how it actually works.

The Routes We Run

From North Texas, most Arkansas deliveries go up US-287 to I-40, then east. That puts you on a straight shot toward Fort Little Rock, with easy splits to Fayetteville, Fort Smith, or Jonesboro. From the Houston or Austin area, the truck typically runs I-45 north to I-30, then east into Texarkana and on to Little Rock.

The route matters less than the schedule. A four-car trailer doesn’t drive straight from your driveway to the destination. It stops. It picks up and drops off along the way. If your car is the only unit on the trailer headed to Arkansas, the driver waits to fill the other three spots or eats the cost of a partial load. That’s the single biggest factor in what you pay and how fast it moves.

What Drives the Cost

Our multi-vehicle rate runs $0.45–$0.65 per mile. Two-vehicle loads run $0.55–$0.75 per mile. A single car with white-glove handling runs $1.00–$1.50 per mile. There’s a $250 minimum on a single vehicle and $150 per vehicle on multi-car loads. A loading and handling fee applies when the driver loads or unloads for you.

Run the math on a 350-mile Fort Worth to Little Rock move. On a full multi-car trailer, that’s roughly $160 to $230 before the minimum kicks in. A single-car, door-to-door run lands closer to $350 to $525. Same distance. Very different number.

Three things move the price:

  • Load density. A full trailer spreads the cost. A partial load doesn’t.
  • Pickup and delivery access. A wide-open dealer lot in Arlington takes minutes. A tight residential street in a older neighborhood takes longer, and time is what you’re paying for.
  • Timing. Expedited service runs 25–50% more because the driver drops everything else. Book ahead and you avoid that.

Volume helps. Five or more vehicles earn 5–15% off. Dealers moving inventory between Texas and Arkansas use this constantly.

Timing and Scheduling

A dedicated single-car run from DFW to Little Rock can happen in a day. Multi-car loads take longer because the trailer has to fill. Plan on two to five days from booking to delivery on a shared load, and ask for a realistic window, not a best case.

We cover all of Texas plus Oklahoma, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Arkansas. If you’re near the border, Texarkana to Texarkana is a same-day run. Shreveport to Fayetteville is a longer day but doable.

If your car doesn’t start, that’s not a problem. Our trailers have winch capability. We load inoperable vehicles regularly. Just tell us up front so the driver brings the right equipment and budgets the extra time.

Auction and Dealer Moves

A lot of our Arkansas traffic starts at auction. Copart, IAA, and Manheim lots across Texas feed buyers in Arkansas, and those cars need to move on a schedule. Auction pickup is one of our core services. We handle the release paperwork, get the car loaded, and run it east.

Dealers moving inventory between the two states get the same treatment. Multi-car loads, predictable timing, one point of contact. If you’re moving units regularly, see our services page for the full list.

Enclosed and Special Handling

Enclosed transport is available if you’re moving a classic, a show car, or something you don’t want exposed to road debris and weather. We don’t own a dedicated enclosed trailer, so we coordinate it as a service tier. Ask about it when you book and we’ll tell you what’s realistic for your timeline.

For heavy equipment, that’s a different trailer entirely. The Silverback 40’ Power Tilt Gooseneck handles skid steers, excavators, and tractors. Equipment rates run $2.50–$3.50 per mile for light, $3.50–$4.50 for medium, and custom quotes for heavy or oversized loads. There’s a $400 equipment minimum. If you’re moving a machine rather than a car, say so at the start.
